Outlets and Switches

Outlets and switches are frequently used throughout today's household and fall under the control of regulatory bodies of both municipal and provincial governments and their respective building codes. Installation of all such electrical fixtures and wiring are therefore strictly controlled, therefore the following is general comments.

Outlets, switches and wiring should be safely installed to provide convenience to the household consumer. Duplex outlets are by example generally provided every 12 linear feet of wall in any room of the house. Light switches should be placed at every entrance to a room, at the top and bottom of stairs, and on basement doors. We recommend that you use high grade switches as they do not cost much more than lower grade ones. Also, ground-fault circuit interrupter, or GFCI duplex safety outlet is required by law in a number of specific areas such as bathrooms, etc.
